| Description: |
1969/1970(?) original 12-song stereo LP acetate Master Reference Dub (unable to date exactly) of largely unreleased material. A product of Artisan Sound Recorders (a top notch disc mastering facility in Hollywood) this superbly recorded collection of live material from The Mothers Of Invention has never been released. The selections are familiar to set lists from 1968-1969, but include such mystery gems as “Passalaglia” (perhaps a pun on the musical form passacaglia), the improvised “Copenhagen Night Music”, a completely different “Kung Fu” than the one found on The Lost Episodes, and a minute of cacophony called “It Must Be Your Breath”. The generic light blue cover has handwritten notations: “Mothers Of Invention,” “Master Ref Dub” and “Correct,” underlined with a check next to it. Also noted is the Reprise catalog number of RS 6406, which ended up being used for Little Richard’s 1970 release The Rill Thing. The disc plays very well with minimal surface noise. 100% AUTHENTIC item obtained directly from HERB COHEN, Frank Zappa's former manager and co-founder of Straight, Bizarre and Discreet Records labels.
