Full Description

1968 blue label original 45 with mega rare withdrawn picture sleeve.

This was the first Rolling Stones picture sleeve issued without a group photo. The two images used were black and white photographs of police brutality, including Los Angeles on the "No Expectations" side. This 45 was released on August 31, 1968, just three days after the riots and protests at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. This is most likely the reason that the sleeve was recalled and withdrawn from sale.

It is unknown how many of these sleeves were printed, but almost all were destroyed before the 45 was shipped to distributors. A few copies escaped the shredder and those were kept by London Records employees. It is unlikely that any sleeves ever made it into retail stores. We estimate that there are only around a dozen known surviving examples.

This is a nice example with some general light wear and creasing and a tiny tear at the bottom right corner of the "No Expectations" side, which has been repaired, as well as another tiny one at the top.
